Aida is an opera in four acts composed by the genius of Giuseppe Verdi with a book in Italian by Antonio Ghislanzoni. Set in the ancient Egypt, the opera was commissioned to celebrate the opening of the Khedivial Opera House in El Cairo, where it premiered on December 1871 with maestro Giovanni Bottesini as the conductor. The story revolves around the Ethiopian princess Aida, who is captured and sent to Egypt as a slave. At this moment, Radames enters the scene.
