Scorpions is a German hard rock and heavy metal band founded in Hanover in 1965. In their 50-year career, they have released dozens of studio albums, singles, live albums, compilations and live DVDs. In addition, they have received multiple awards and medals, making them the most successful rock band in Germany.

Scorpions is recognized as the most important and successful rock band in Germany and continental Europe. The global album sales are estimated to exceed 100 million, of which 10.5 million are sold in the United States alone. Even so, in 2011, German professional media estimated that the group’s global sales reached 160 million. On the other hand, in the official awards of the 2009 Echo Awards, someone mentioned that as of that time, they had donated more than 5,000 live concerts in more than 80 countries/regions.
