Composed by Giuseppe Verdi to a libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, La Traviata follows the tragic relationship between Parisian courtesan Violetta Valéry and the young Alfredo Germont.

Their romance offers Violetta the possibility of a different life, but social expectations and the intervention of Alfredo’s father force her into a devastating sacrifice.
