The Requiem Mass is a sacred composition by maestro Giuseppe Verdi, composed in 1874 for choices, solo vocals and orchestra. After undeniable success with the operar Aida in 1871, Giuseppe Verdi retired some time from the composition until he created Otello in 1887. During this period of his youth, however, he composed the Requiem Mass, usually just called Requiem. The first time it was performed was in Milan, in 1874, on the first anniversary of the death of Alessandro Manzoni, a good friend of Giuseppe Verdi’s and for whom he composed this piece.
