Only Calaf will manage to really win the heart of Turandot and thus overcome the distance that keeps the princess far from true love.
Turandot is an opera in three acts structured by the magnificent composer Giacomo Puccini, who also birthed Madame Butterfly. Its composition was finished by Franco Alfano after the former’s death in 1926 and complemented by the book in Italian by Renato Simoni and Giuseppe Adami.
The plot focuses on the princess Turandot, in China. She refuses to be seduced by any man, playing with the life of her suitors by demanding that they answer three riddles if they want to marry her. If they answer incorrectly, it’s their death. However, prince Calaf can answer the three riddles correctly and, after some struggle, wins Turandot’s heart, bringing the princess closer to real love.
